Permit Embargo Affecting Ferromex Interchanges Effective May 12, 2022

Date
May 11, 2022

Due to congestion at our Eagle Pass and El Paso, TX gateways caused by Ferromex (FXE) system issues, BNSF has issued a permit embargo on all southbound traffic destined for interchange with the FXE at these junctions. The embargo (BNSF002322) will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, May 12. No permits are being issued at the present time.

Northbound shipments interchanging with BNSF at these gateways are unaffected.

About Embargoes:
Embargoes are temporary holds placed on freight to restrict the acceptance and handling of freight. You can search embargoes at the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Embargo Railinc website here (enter "BNSF" in the Issuing Road field to view active embargoes).

If you have questions about your shipment(s), please contact BNSF Customer Support at 1-888-428-2673.
